I like experimenting with fused glass trying to capture the luminosity, transparency, and radiance of light. I seek to explore the unfolding of forms, colors, textures in the layering of glass and inclusions. Every one of my pieces is unique. I let the nature of the glass guide me in creating landscapes and abstract designs. Changing light gives my work a myriad of visions.
I come from a very artistic family and was always encourage to play with different media.
My interest in glass started with my collection of paperweights. I am intrigued by the magical worlds these artist can create. I attended several conventions and was surrounded by wonderful glass artists and their love of the media.
This inspired me to learn on my own. I took a local class in stained glass and became intrigued with the variety of glass and the effects one could create.
I spent a week at Snow Farm in western Massachusetts where I perfected my skills. Snow Farm is a very supportive school that allows you to explore and expand your abilities.
For a couple of years I created stained glass panels drifting from realistic scenes to patterns I created using diodes and gems.
Then at one of the Glass Art Society Conventions I met some wonderful glass fusers and fell in love with this technique. Once again I returned to Snow Farm to learn fusing. For the past five years I’ve been working on my own exploring the joy of creating using this media.
