Glassblower. Educator. Instigator. Music Freak.
I am a glassblower. I used to think hot glass was the medium in which I was most prolific and creative. Through examination while pursuing an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts, I have realized that teaching is also an artistic medium in which I thrive. After over two decades teaching in Higher Education it was time for a change. As I quietly closed the door on that chapter, I kicked down the door of my current chapter. I have recently opened the Hot Glass Art Center in Marlborough, NH. The mission at HGAC focuses on offering a teaching and learning space focused on hot glass outside the traditional system for arts education. The studio also serves as a workplace in which to create not only my personal glasswork but many local artists also create their work in our space. There are classes, workshops and rentals available for all levels of glass enthusiasts.
Glassblowing is a true team endeavor. There is a scene and a sense of happening when around hot glass. Our facility is already a community arts center for people interested in art, glass or being part of something greater than themselves.
